Carlos Aguiar, 33. Fifteen years ago Carlos was incarcerated in the Correctional Facility and became a regular bus rider through an educational release program that allowed him to take the bus to college classes in Newark during the day. A self-described ‘street kid’ from Newark who never graduated high school, Carlos now is on the verge of graduating from New Jersey City University’s Media Arts Department as a film major. He is fighting to keep his life ‘straight’, get good grades and help take care of his 3 year-old daughter, but says the lure of the street is still difficult to avoid. Besides being one of our subjects Carlos will be working as part of our filmmaking team as a cameraman.

Chris Russell, 56. Warehouse worker at nearby Uncommon Carrier, former military paratrooper, lives in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn with his pet boa constrictor. Has been commuting over 2 hours to work each way daily for the last 15 years. On days off work he is an avid fisherman and hunter.
