Ghost Kingdom
GHOST KINGDOM is a documentary/essay about attachment, a concept pioneered by British psychologist John Bowlby. Attachment theory suggests that children come into the world biologically pre-programmed to form attachments with others in order to survive. Touching on issues of nuclear family structure, epigenetics, and inherited trauma, my wife and I examine attachment issues from our own families. Our two adopted daughters, currently ages 11 and 16 years, also speak for themselves in this highly personal memoir. “Ghost Kingdom” is a term coined by adoptee and clinical psychologist Betty Jean Lifton.
